Tips for a Success: Preparing Your Quilt for Quilting:

Preparing Your Quilt Top
• Iron your top one last time
* Spread out your quilt top and make sure it lies flat (see our border tips below)
• Trim loose threads on the front of your top
• Please trim any "dog ears"

Preparing Your Backing

• Provide at least 10 inches of extra fabric for backing (5" on each side)
• Provide at least 10 extra inches of batting
• If you pieced your backing, make sure you have pieced enough so that the selvage/wording is not visible on the right side of the quilt back
• Iron any seams open or to one side and press your backing to remove creases and wrinkles
* We do not recommend using sheets
